With three fight areas and the promise to provide an internationally recognized stage for all the competitors, the AJP Tour Kishinev International Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2023 took over the State University of Physical Education and Sport, in Moldova. On Saturday, March 25th, colored belts from all over reached the organization's mats to take yet another step in their journey to reach the upper echelons of the sport.
One of the highlights of the event, the Romanian brown belt Mircea Bragagiu (Zr Team Association) emerged victorious at the 77kg division. In his campaign, Mircea first beat Ukrainian Alexander Lunyov (Southside BJJ Europe) by 3-0 to then reach the final round, in which he faced and defeated the also Ukrainian and fellow teammate George Albul, with a score of 2-1.
Other highlights were George Albul, who brushed off his previous defeat and came out on top in the gi open heavyweight division; and Moldovan blue belt Cristian Tugulea, who overcame a purple belt and a brown belt to take the no-gi open heavyweight gold.
